FERVER, the European Federation of Glass Recyclers, is pleased to announce the appointment of René Schroeder as its new Secretary-General, effective 5 January 2026. The federation extends its sincere gratitude to Olivier Deweerdt for his dedicated service and leadership over the past three years.
René Schroeder brings a wealth of experience in association management and advocacy, with a strong background in technology, energy, mobility, and sustainability. He holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from the College of Europe and a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Rostock, Germany.
In the coming months, FERVER will focus on shaping the forthcoming Circular Economy Act, supporting the implementation of the new End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation, and advancing the new Packaging Waste and Waste Regulations. These efforts aim to establish a robust EU policy framework that enhances the competitiveness of glass recyclers across Europe.
